Each link in this continuous necklace is a hand-carved hourglass of Jaguar Guatemalan jadeite — the deep, richly saturated green that defines this prized color expression of Guatemalan jade. Gold vermeil spacer beads sit between each carved stone, their warmth drawing out the jade's own green depth, finished with a gold vermeil clasp.
The hourglass cut is a traditional form in Mesoamerican jade carving — a shape that references the waist, the vessel, the passage. Here it is rendered in Jaguar jade: Type A Guatemalan jadeite, untreated and uncoated, sourced from the same geological tradition that supplied the ancient Maya.
