Ancient Stones, Ancient Craft
Three materials with histories that stretch back millennia — each one chosen for what it brings to the composition. Hetian jade from China's Xinjiang province: pale, smooth, and deeply rooted in Chinese jade tradition. Black Guatemalan jadeite from the mountains of Central America: rare, vitreous, and carrying the weight of Maya civilization. And at the center, a single carved bloodstone tube — a stone revered since antiquity, shaped into a form that adds architectural dimension to the strand. This is a bracelet built for those who read stones.
The Stones
Hetian Jade (Nephrite)
Hetian jade from Xinjiang, China has been treasured for over 7,000 years — prized for its smooth, almost soapy texture, its quiet luster, and its deep association with virtue and refinement in Chinese culture. Its creamy, pale tone provides a luminous foundation that allows the bracelet's darker elements to read with full intensity. Natural and untreated.
Guatemalan Jadeite — Black
Black jadeite from Guatemala is among the rarest expressions of Mesoamerican jade. Its near-opaque depth comes from graphite or iron inclusions within the jadeite matrix, and its surface carries the same characteristic vitreous luster as all fine jadeite — a glassy quality that catches light even in its darkest form. Prized by the ancient Maya and genuinely rare in the contemporary market. Natural and untreated.
Bloodstone — Carved Tube (Focal)
Bloodstone — a dark green chalcedony flecked with vivid red jasper inclusions — has been carved and worn since ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The tube cut here is deliberately architectural: longer and more linear than a round bead, it introduces a different rhythm into the bracelet and draws the eye as a focal point. Carved by hand, it carries texture and dimension that no machine-cut bead can replicate. The deep green body echoes the jade tones around it; the red flecks introduce warmth and complexity. Natural and untreated.
Construction
- Strung on 0.7mm premium stretch cord for a comfortable, slip-on fit
- Hetian jade and black Guatemalan jadeite beads with a single carved bloodstone tube focal piece
- No clasp required — designed for effortless daily wear
- Handcrafted; one-of-a-kind piece
Wearing It
The carved bloodstone tube is the architectural anchor of this bracelet — the element that gives it structure and intention. Against the smooth round beads of Hetian jade and black Guatemalan jadeite, its carved surface and elongated form create a focal point that is unmistakable without being loud. The pale-and-dark contrast of the two jades provides a sophisticated backdrop; the bloodstone brings craft and history to the foreground. Pairs naturally with silver and oxidized metals, and wears beautifully alongside other carved or jade pieces.
Care
- Remove before swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise to preserve the stretch cord
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
- Store flat or loosely coiled — avoid hanging, which can stress the cord over time
- Natural stones may have minor surface variations; these are not flaws — they are proof of origin

What is Type A jade?
TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye. It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.
What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?
Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green. We carry both.
What is Imperial Green jade?
ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.
How do I care for my jade piece?
Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap.Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.Store separately to prevent scratching. With proper care,Type A jade lasts generations.
Do you provide certificates of authenticity?
At JADEscape, we source directly from the mines and the carvers themselves — our provenance comes from the relationship, not a certificate. The jade certification industry is largely unregulated and most commonly used by resellers. We can tell you exactly where a piece came from, who carved it, and what makes it genuine — because we were there.
