A piece of American natural history, carried forward in silver and stone.
This Heritage Series bolo is built around an individually sourced vintage bighorn sheep medallion, paired with hand-selected high-grade turquoise and substantial hand-forged sterling silver.
The established Bootleg Silver Co. composition places the medallion above the turquoise so the stone becomes an extension of the landscape within the coin. Greens, earth tones, matrix, and natural patterning are selected to echo the rugged mountain terrain associated with the bighorn.
The medallion and turquoise are set into a dimensional sterling silver composition with hand-fabricated accents and an oxidized finish that emphasizes the relief and character of the vintage piece.
Each bolo is finished with a brown braided leather cord and sterling silver tips.
The original Bighorn Sheep Bolo sold, and this proven Heritage Series design is now available again as a made-to-order piece.
Vintage bighorn medallions are sourced individually for each build. The specific medallion may vary depending on availability, age, mint, and design, but the established Bootleg Silver Co. composition and Bighorn Sheep Heritage design language will remain consistent.
Natural turquoise will also vary from piece to piece. Each stone is selected specifically for the individual medallion, ensuring that every finished bolo carries the spirit of the original design while remaining distinct in its own materials and character.

The bighorn carries a deeply personal connection to the roots of Bootleg Silver Co.
Growing up in the mountains of rural Idaho, bighorn sheep were part of the landscape and part of the family story. Suzette’s father was a professional hunting guide and has kept his own trophy bighorn for more than 45 years. He also helped his father, Merle, with his bighorn hunt — connecting this design across generations of family, hunters, ranchers, and the mountain country they called home.
That history is exactly why this design belongs in the Heritage Series: it brings together vintage material, natural stone, Western landscape, and family legacy in a piece meant to carry the story forward.

What is Type A jade?
TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye. It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.
What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?
Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green. We carry both.
What is Imperial Green jade?
ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.
How do I care for my jade piece?
Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap.Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.Store separately to prevent scratching. With proper care,Type A jade lasts generations.
Do you provide certificates of authenticity?
At JADEscape, we source directly from the mines and the carvers themselves — our provenance comes from the relationship, not a certificate. The jade certification industry is largely unregulated and most commonly used by resellers. We can tell you exactly where a piece came from, who carved it, and what makes it genuine — because we were there.
