This pendant is hand-cut from a single piece of Guatemalan jadeite, shaped into an organic freeform silhouette that follows the natural contours of the stone rather than imposing geometry upon it. The result is a piece that feels alive — soft edges, subtle curves, and a translucency that allows the rare blue hues hidden within the green to reveal themselves fully when held to the light.
The "blue" in Guatemalan jadeite is not a separate stone — it is a rare optical phenomenon within the jadeite itself, a delicate blue presence concealed within green, visible only in the finest material from the Motagua River Valley. The same valley where ancient Maya artisans sourced the jade they considered sacred.
Shaped and polished entirely by hand in our small Ohio workshop. No CNC. No automation. Every contour worked slowly and deliberately until the stone's full character emerges.

TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye.It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.
What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?
Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green.We carry both.

ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent,with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.
How do I care for my jade piece?
