Dark and Light, East and West

The simplest contrasts are often the most powerful. This bracelet pairs large, very dark Guatemalan jadeite beads — so deeply colored they read as near-black in most light — with a single white Myanmar jade bead that sits against them like a point of light in shadow. No warmth, no fire. Just the full range of jade's color spectrum, compressed onto a single strand: the darkest green the Maya mountains offer, and the purest white from the jade fields of Burma.

The Stones

Guatemalan Jadeite — Very Dark Green, Large Beads
Guatemalan jadeite in its darkest expressions approaches black — the color so saturated and deep that it absorbs light rather than reflecting it. In shadow, these large beads read as near-black; in direct light, a rich, dark green emerges from within. The vitreous luster characteristic of fine jadeite remains present, giving the surface a depth that matte black stone cannot replicate. Prized by the ancient Maya and rare in this depth of color. Natural and untreated.

Myanmar Jade — White (Jadeite, Accent)
White jadeite from Myanmar is among the most classically prized expressions of Burmese jade — pure, luminous, and deeply associated with the finest traditions of Chinese jade appreciation. As a single accent bead against the near-black Guatemalan jade, it reads with quiet intensity: cool, clean, and impossible to overlook. The contrast between the two stones is as stark as jade gets — the same mineral family, at opposite ends of its color range. Natural and untreated.

Construction

  • Strung on 0.7mm premium stretch cord for a comfortable, slip-on fit
  • Large beads — substantial size for a bold, grounded presence on the wrist
  • Very dark Guatemalan jadeite with a single white Myanmar jade accent — two jadeite traditions, maximum contrast
  • No clasp required — designed for effortless daily wear
  • Handcrafted; one-of-a-kind piece

Wearing It

The near-black and white palette is one of the most enduring in design — and in jade, it carries the added weight of two of the world's most significant jadeite sources. The dark jade wears with authority; the white accent draws the eye with precision. It pairs naturally with silver, white gold, and platinum, and sits beautifully alongside other jade pieces from either tradition. For those who prefer their jewelry to make a statement through restraint rather than color.

Care

  • Remove before swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise to preserve the stretch cord
  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
  • Store flat or loosely coiled — avoid hanging, which can stress the cord over time
  • Natural stones may have minor surface variations; these are not flaws — they are proof of origin

Know Your Stone

What is Type A jade?

TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye. It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.

What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?

Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green. We carry both.

What is Imperial Green jade?

ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.

How do I care for my jade piece?

Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap.Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.Store separately to prevent scratching. With proper care,Type A jade lasts generations.

Do you provide certificates of authenticity?

At JADEscape, we source directly from the mines and the carvers themselves — our provenance comes from the relationship, not a certificate. The jade certification industry is largely unregulated and most commonly used by resellers. We can tell you exactly where a piece came from, who carved it, and what makes it genuine — because we were there.
