Almost Black, Almost Fire
This bracelet lives at the edge of darkness. Large, very dark Guatemalan jadeite beads — so deeply colored they read as near-black in most light, revealing their true green only when held to a direct source — form the body of the strand. Against them, a single dark orange Gobi Desert agate from the stone fields of Mongolia burns like an ember: deep, warm, and translucent where the jade is opaque. Two stones at the extreme ends of their respective color ranges. One bracelet.
The Stones
Guatemalan Jadeite — Very Dark Green, Large Beads
Guatemalan jadeite in its darkest green expressions approaches black — the color so saturated and deep that it absorbs light rather than reflecting it. These large beads sit at that threshold: in shadow, they read as near-black; in direct light, a rich, dark green emerges from within. The vitreous luster characteristic of fine jadeite is still present, giving the surface a depth that matte black stone cannot replicate. Prized by the ancient Maya and rare in this depth of color. Natural and untreated.
Gobi Desert Agate — Dark Orange (Accent)
Dark orange Gobi Desert agates are among the most vivid and saturated finds from the Mongolian desert. The deep, burnt-orange color — closer to cinnabar than amber — comes from concentrated iron oxide within the silica matrix, intensified over millions of years beneath the desert surface. As a single accent bead against the near-black jade, it functions like a coal in darkness: small, warm, and impossible to ignore. Translucent and naturally patterned. Entirely untreated.

Wearing It
This is a bracelet for those who prefer their jewelry dark, grounded, and quietly dramatic. The near-black jade wears with authority across any setting — it pairs naturally with gold, oxidized silver, and dark metals, and holds its own against bold clothing or bare skin. The dark orange agate is the detail that rewards a second look: warm, glowing, and entirely unexpected against the depth of the jade. A collector's piece as much as a daily wear.
Care
- Remove before swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise to preserve the stretch cord
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
- Store flat or loosely coiled — avoid hanging, which can stress the cord over time
- Natural stones may have minor surface variations; these are not flaws — they are proof of origin

What is Imperial Green jade?
ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.
