One Source, Two Colors, One Desert Accent

Guatemala is the only place in the Americas where jadeite forms in significant quantities — and it produces a remarkable range of color from a single geological source. This bracelet showcases two of them side by side: blue Guatemalan jadeite and grey Guatemalan jadeite, both from the same ancient mountain deposits, each expressing a different face of the same stone. A single yellow Gobi Desert agate from Mongolia completes the composition — a warm, translucent accent that bridges the two cool jades with unexpected precision.

The Stones

Guatemalan Jadeite — Blue
Blue jadeite is among the rarest and most prized color expressions from Guatemala's jade deposits. The blue-grey to blue-green hues — sometimes called "Olmec Blue" in reference to the ancient Mesoamerican civilizations that revered this stone — come from specific mineral inclusions within the jadeite matrix. Dense, vitreous, and deeply colored, with the characteristic glassy luster of fine jadeite. Natural and untreated.

Guatemalan Jadeite — Grey
Grey jadeite from Guatemala is a cooler, more neutral expression of the same stone — understated where the blue is vivid, grounding where the blue draws the eye. The two colors share the same geological origin and the same dense, lustrous texture, but read as distinct stones on the wrist. Together they demonstrate the remarkable chromatic range that makes Guatemalan jadeite so singular. Natural and untreated.

Gobi Desert Agate — Yellow
A single yellow Gobi Desert agate from the stone fields of Mongolia serves as the bracelet's warm accent. Its natural golden translucency — the result of iron and manganese mineral inclusions formed over millions of years — catches light differently than the opaque jades around it, creating a point of warmth and luminosity within the cool composition. Entirely untreated.

Construction

  • Strung on 0.7mm premium stretch cord for a comfortable, slip-on fit
  • Blue and grey Guatemalan jadeite beads with a single yellow Gobi Desert agate accent — a three-tone composition from two geological sources
  • No clasp required — designed for effortless daily wear
  • Handcrafted; one-of-a-kind bead arrangement

Wearing It

Cool, collected, and quietly complex. The blue and grey jades create a tonal harmony that the yellow agate punctuates with warmth — a palette that pairs naturally with silver, white gold, and cool-toned metals. For the jade collector, this bracelet offers something rare: two color expressions of Guatemalan jadeite on a single strand, with a Mongolian desert stone as the counterpoint. Wear it alone or alongside other jade pieces.

Care

  • Remove before swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise to preserve the stretch cord
  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
  • Store flat or loosely coiled — avoid hanging, which can stress the cord over time
  • Natural stones may have minor surface variations; these are not flaws — they are proof of origin

Know Your Stone

What is Type A jade?

TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye. It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.

What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?

Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green. We carry both.

What is Imperial Green jade?

ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.

How do I care for my jade piece?

Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap.Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.Store separately to prevent scratching. With proper care,Type A jade lasts generations.

Do you provide certificates of authenticity?

At JADEscape, we source directly from the mines and the carvers themselves — our provenance comes from the relationship, not a certificate. The jade certification industry is largely unregulated and most commonly used by resellers. We can tell you exactly where a piece came from, who carved it, and what makes it genuine — because we were there.
