Shape as Language

Most bracelets are built from round beads. This one is not. Black Guatemalan jadeite discs — flat, wide, and commanding — alternate with Hetian jade rondelles, their flattened profile creating a layered, almost architectural rhythm on the wrist. A single Gobi Desert agate from Mongolia punctuates the strand with translucency and warmth. The result is a bracelet where the cut of the stone is as deliberate as the stone itself.

The Stones

Guatemalan Jadeite — Black Discs
Black jadeite from Guatemala is among the rarest expressions of Mesoamerican jade — near-opaque, deeply lustrous, and carrying the vitreous glassy finish characteristic of fine jadeite. Cut here into disc form, these beads are wider and flatter than a standard round bead, giving them a bold, graphic presence on the wrist. The disc cut maximizes the stone's surface area and luster, catching light across a broader face. Prized by the ancient Maya and genuinely rare in the contemporary market. Natural and untreated.

Hetian Jade — Rondelles (Nephrite)
Hetian jade from Xinjiang, China has been treasured for over 7,000 years for its smooth texture, quiet luster, and deep cultural significance. The rondelle cut — a flattened disc shape, narrower than a full disc — creates a rhythmic visual counterpoint to the black jade discs: same flat profile, different scale and color. The pale, creamy tone of the Hetian jade reads as luminous against the black jadeite, and the rondelle form adds movement and dimension to the strand. Natural and untreated.

Gobi Desert Agate — Accent
A single Gobi Desert agate from the stone fields of Mongolia completes the composition. Round and translucent where the jade pieces are flat and opaque, it introduces a different geometry and a different quality of light — a warm, naturally patterned bead that serves as the bracelet's accent note and visual rest point. Entirely untreated.

Construction

  • Strung on 0.7mm premium stretch cord for a comfortable, slip-on fit
  • Black Guatemalan jadeite discs alternating with Hetian jade rondelles, with a single Gobi Desert agate accent
  • Flat bead profile — a layered, architectural look distinct from standard round-bead bracelets
  • No clasp required — designed for effortless daily wear
  • Handcrafted; one-of-a-kind piece

Wearing It

The flat disc and rondelle format gives this bracelet a stacked, layered quality on the wrist — it sits differently than a round-bead bracelet and catches light across a broader surface. The black-and-pale contrast of the two jades is sophisticated and versatile, pairing naturally with both silver and gold. The Gobi agate accent adds warmth and a note of natural irregularity that keeps the composition from feeling too geometric. For those who want their jewelry to be noticed for its form as much as its material.

Care

  • Remove before swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise to preserve the stretch cord
  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth
  • Store flat or loosely coiled — avoid hanging, which can stress the cord over time
  • Natural stones may have minor surface variations; these are not flaws — they are proof of origin

Know Your Stone

What is Type A jade?

TypeA jade is natural, untreated stone — no bleaching, no polymer filling, no dye. It's the collector standard and the only grade we carry at JADEscape.Provenance documentation is available on request.

What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?

Both are true jade, but different minerals.Jadeite is rarer, harder, and found in vivid colors including ImperialGreen.Nephrite is tougher with a silky texture, ranging from creamy white to deep forest green. We carry both.

What is Imperial Green jade?

ImperialGreen is the most prized color grade in jadeite — a vivid, evenly saturated green produced by trace chromium in the stone's crystal structure.TrueImperialGreen is highly translucent, with a depth of color that seems to glow from within.AtJADEscape, when we carry ImperialGreen material, it is always TypeA — natural and untreated.

How do I care for my jade piece?

Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap.Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.Store separately to prevent scratching. With proper care,Type A jade lasts generations.

Do you provide certificates of authenticity?

At JADEscape, we source directly from the mines and the carvers themselves — our provenance comes from the relationship, not a certificate. The jade certification industry is largely unregulated and most commonly used by resellers. We can tell you exactly where a piece came from, who carved it, and what makes it genuine — because we were there.
